It's summertime in the Texas Hill Country which means it's festival time!
One of the most fun and entertaining parts of living in the Texas Hill Country is all the great fairs and festivals. Every community has a big party to pay homage to something whether it be a fruit, flower, food, or furry creature! Well maybe not so much on the furry creatures, but you get the point!
Just up the highway in our neighboring Blanco County is the Blanco Lavender Festival!
One of Blanco, Texas' claims to fame is being dubbed the Lavender Capital of Texas...mmmmmmmm...you can almost smell the lovely scent of lavender just thinking about it. It is a three day event beginning Friday, June 12 and running through Sunday, June 14, 2009 complete with farm tours, street dance, market and more!

Blanco, Texas is a charming Texas Hill Country community located only 45 miles from San Antonio...
it was settled in 1853 by pioneer stockman, former Texas Rangers, immigrants and their families.
